I am selling my 1973 Ford Maverick with a 351 roller / T56 6-speed conversion. The body has 58,000 original miles, and the engine has about 3,000 miles since it was rebuilt with forged internals, aluminum cylinder heads, roller cam, Edelbrock intake, and Demon carburetor. Custom Tri-Y headers were installed with Flowmaster mufflers. The transmission was purchased new, and also has 3,000 miles.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed Ford Performance T56 manual transmission and an 8″ rear end which has been rebuilt with a Trac-Loc differential and 3.90:1 gears. The shock towers have been narrowed, and the engine and transmission are mounted on custom crossmembers.
The car was repainted in 2018 in the original red color. The smaller front bumper and valance were sourced from a 1971 Maverick. The exterior trim was removed for a cleaner look. American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels were recently installed.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl and features front bucket seats from a 1960s Mustang, a floor shifter, and an aftermarket stereo. The stock fuel gauge and warning lights are augmented by AutoMeter temperature and oil pressure gauges along with a tachometer mounted on the transmission tunnel. An Alpine stereo has been added along with speakers in the kick panels and under the package tray.
